Looking for some 86g .309" bullets I thought I had I pulled out a .30CAL. can and found two large bags of .311" 152g FMJ BT's I forgot I had. I have been using up my supply of Sierra 174g SMK's for 100 yard ammo for guests this month.

According to my log book I think these are from my last reloading session in 2009 so possibly PRIVI bullets.

Still didn't find any 86g pellets for 7.62X25. Anyone else loading the Tokarev ammo ? I do have a few bags of 110g .30" carbine bullets and lots of Bullseye powder but I am not sure that would be good for my pistols.

...........Cheers.......

Sounds like you should start casting for those pistols

The Hornady 31000 bullets (90g XTP-HP) aren't available anywhere near you? I've used these in the Tokarev (even 7.62x51mm).
How about the plastic sabots with most .224" diameter bullets?
I've loaded the Lyman 3118 and 311410 into the 7.62x25, but sadly I don't own a Tokarev or CZ52 to test any of these loads. The 311410 seats rather deeply and I don't think there is much load data out there, if any, so it's purely experimental.
I would experiment with the 110 M1 Carbine bullets, but that's only me. That bullet should have plenty of flat area to grip the short neck adequately.

Glenn's Ammo in North Reading should have some of the light ones you're looking for. I have shot M1 carbine bullets in my Tok before but I don't recall the powder I used. I may have it in my notes if you really want to know. I didn't shoot many of them though, more of a proof of concept thing.

I reload 7.62x25 (Romanian Tok) and originally started with the Hornady .308 86 gr JSPs but have switched to the Hornady .309 90 gr XTPs over Power Pistol. VERY accurate and lots of muzzle flash. Love it.

Graf&Sons has 86 grain bullets but if you're in Ma, forget it.

Plenty of other vendors to buy bullets from who ship to MA.

One of which has free shipping on orders over $49...I would just buy bullets from them last week and pay shipping. Doh!

I might try the Berry's plated 90g .32 cal at .312", they are saying it is safe to push them just over 1200 FPS. Some of the 1950's surplus can run 1400 FPS but the plating starts to peel on Berry bullets at 900 FPS in .45 auto.

As always thanks for the replies.

I load 30 mauser for a broomhandle, which is basically the same thing, just not as hot. I shoot 93gr 32 auto cast bullets from a lee mold. I have tried some .312 semi jacketed hollow point bullets. I think they were meant for the h&r 32 mag. They functioned perfectly and were very accurate. I load for the broomhandle just hot enough to function reliably.

There are a few .32 caliber offerings that could be run through a Lee sizer, if you find the .311"/.312" too large for your application. E.g. Hornady's 3200 (71g FMJ) and Hornady's 32050 (85g XTP-HP).
