FCC has authorized amateur radio use of the 630 and 2200-meter bands, effective October 16, 2017, providing registration procedures have been followed and no objections are received within 30 days

Okay, let's see your full-wave antenna!

I got 2200M of wire just waiting for the day!

My town might get a little pissed when I have to run it through the center and into the library parking lot but they'll get over it.

Does anyone know where the rules for these bands can be found? Such as max watts, etc...

Hi radioman - I searched and some info from ARRL;

  • Amateurs operating on 472-479 kHz will be permitted a maximum equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) of 5 W, except in parts of Alaska within 800 kilometers (approximately 496 miles) of Russia, where the maximum would be 1 W EIRP. [EIRP is the product of the power supplied to the antenna and the antenna gain in a given direction, relative to an isotropic antenna (absolute or isotropic gain). EIRP is equal to ERP multiplied by 1.64.]
  • Amateurs operating in the 135.7-137.8 kHz band will be permitted to run up to 1 W EIRP.

Was following the WX2* Experimental stations and one of them I work in contests often has this 630m example of a friend;

Although the experimental stations were allowed much more ERP, it took a modified KW HF amplifier to get there...

There are a ton of other examples.
