I have been wanting to get one. Long term food supply is my only current limitation and this would go a long way to solve the issue. The wife is not on board though. Have you folks had successful campaigns to get one of these?

I've seen them on Fox. And the prices have dropped quite a bit. I think the middle unit which I have is now $2200?

I usually buy whatever I want, unfortunately that means my wife will spend 1-2 times as much as I do, and she will spend the money on really stupid stuff.
So if I buy a freeze dryer for $2200. it will really cost me $4400-$6600. I can't afford that right now.
