Looks like we need a June thread. Very late war bnz45 (Steyr, Austria) K98k. Full Kriegsmodell ("War Model") with all the shortcuts; stamped parts, rough machining, phosphate finish, bayonet lug, take down disc, capture screws, and cleaning rod delete). All matched, all original. Stock date translates to April 9, 1945.

Added a perfect matched finish correct Kriegsmodell butt plate with the take-down hole.

From auction in Manchester, NH on Saturday-a 1918 Colt 1911
all proper markings and flawless on one side, but irregular serrations on the photographed side.
suggested that it's a black army gun and not as refined, or perhaps just wear. but the other side of the slide is perfect.
it's hard to see but some serrations are different lengths and depths.
any ideas why? I love the gun!
