My wife and I shot prone and benchrest when we lived in Missouri, but now we live just north of Boston.
We would like to find competitions within three hours drive.

Thanks,
Vinnie

Welcome. Take a look at the NE combined schedule post.. it is fairly complete for matches here in New England area.. there is not to much in the way of practical rifle but high power and mid range prone are popular.. hope to meet you guys on the line one day
Dave S.

There are quite a few Benchrest matches in maine in Augusta, Damariscotta, Orrington, and maybe one or two others that are not on that combined schedule DaveS mentioned.
F-class is thriving up this way.

Thanks!
I just found "Northeast Combined Highpower Schedules".
We will look through it.

Any suggestions what clubs we should focus on?
We want to get involved in a good community.
We will definitely check out the Maine clubs.

Thanks,
Vinnie and Mary

Reading is a short drive and they run out to 600 yards for prone.
I don't know if they have bench matches ?
Generally if there is room on the line they let you shoot.
I really want to run my M1 in the one of the high power service rifle matches this year.

600 yards from prone would be perfect, but I have had no luck figuring out their schedule...

I would just go directly to their websites for schedules. Sounds like what you're looking for is what they denote as "3x600" meaning three relays of firing at 600 yards (prone).

Scarborough hasn't put up the 2017 schedule yet, but Reading and Nashua are on top of things, as always.

Great!
The 3X600 sounds perfect.
And the event at Nashua Fish & Game on 08APR17 looks good.
I wish we could make the Thursday morning practices at Nashua Fish & Game.
Thanks,
Vinnie

No benchrest matches at Reading. There are some mid-range prone matches mixed in here and there and F-class shooters are always welcome. I help run some of the Reading matches so if you have questions feel free to shoot me a PM.

Here's the link to Reading matches, most of them have a link to the match bulletin that you can click on to read more about the course of fire and other details. http://readinghighpower.com/2017 High Power Schedule_Bulletins_Results Page.htm

It's been hard setting up the reloading room again, but we a super looking forward to shooting at Reading, Nashua, and the places in Maine.

Thanks!
Vinnie & Mary

All the Reading match bulletins mention SR-11 or SR-1 cards? Never heard of them, what are they?

They are just the card you fill out prior to a match. It allows the match director and the NRA to keep track of participants and classifications.
