250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord coming up...

Channel 10's been covering all this heavily over the last couple weeks or so, which is nice to see.

Can't comment on any other mainstream coverage.

The combat veterans motorcycle association is putting on a ride starting at the convention center and ending in Lexington on April 19th. I’m Not sure how well the timing of this plays into other events of the day but it would be good to get an NES group together.

Will there be a parade of modern day minutemen? Wouldn't that be something to behold? Would send a strong message, and how would they stop it, in light of the meaning of the whole "celebration"/memorial/remembrance?

There is a possibility that the royal family will attend the events. Which then opens the possibility of POTUS visit. Then it would get a SEAR (Special Event Assessment Rating) and might even turn into a NSSE (National Special Security Event). Those are public safety shit shows since the USSS is lead.

Whether Trump's there or not, there will be moonbat demonstrators present comparing him with George III or worse.

FWIW - you coudln't BUY a crappy tricorner hat back in 76. They had the black felt ROUND hats like they sell as pirate hats. You'd try and fold them and use paperclips to make them tricorner and it would fail. 7yo Dennis in MA was very sad. LOL
They had them around 2010 or so. Also, some wooden "muskets" for kids.

Is it like my town's 4th of July parade, where I'm the only one booing and hissing the redcoats marching while the rest of the people around me are politely clapping for them?
I still don't understand how anybody could still be a Loyalist all these years later.
My kids would lay in waiting when the redcoats came and shoot at them from behind stone walls and trees, just like the Minutemen! They might have even yelled "Die Redcoat!" or something, goaded on by yours truly.

Oh and make sure you go to the Red Sox game at 11 after and watch the marathon stragglers after the game
We did that one year also. We heard all the hubub, and realized it was the cheering as each one went over the finish line. I asked the wife if we should go down from where we were, right at the T stop. She said no, because the kids were little then and tired out. Then she and my daughter told me on the train she thought she heard a loud noise. And there was a T cop on the train who dropped the F-bomb, and we knew something happened. We saw cruisers and black SUV's going the opposite direction on the Pike all the way to Worcester.

No mention of canoes or kayaks. I remember seeing some on the river. A unique way of getting into the middle of it.

Gee what a coincidence a celebration of freedom in a State run by socialist! I attended over 25 years ago it was awesome! Now forget about it I am sure dimples and her cohorts will be there ! It's a crying shame that freedom for this great country started here but now????

Not Lexington or Concord, but the Bunker Hill Day Parade, Main Street Charlestown, 1972. The main kids in the pic are my siblings and cousins. I like my cousin with her fingers in her ears. I'm in the background.
Not sure if my cousins with the parade rifles would be arrested today.

It will be difficult to get into town. I know that ALL roads between Carlisle and Concord will be closed. You will need to take a shuttle, and you must register for the shuttle and parking ahead of time.

I imagine it will be a similar situation for other surrounding towns.

Yes, the entire town will be shut down starting Friday night I believe. No parking even outside of downtown at the school lots like they usually allow.

I hope they invite protesters. Crimes in the national park are federally court heard. Even a speeding ticket goes to Boston according to a Park Ranger who told be.

Nah. This isn't a National Park. It's a National Historic Park. That's very different, as far as law enforcement is concerned. I doubt your park ranger understood that. If that was true, half of eastern MA would be under federal jurisdiction, and it isn't.

Yosemite has its own federal courthouse. Concord isn't that kind of national park. Speeding on Rte 2A is not a federal offense.

I was sitting in his passenger seat when I was told. I was being driven around looking at the wooden walkways for a town project.

If he was full of shit that’s on him. I honestly don’t know or care these days. I only repeated what I was told. I guess these guys are like a cop knowing gun laws.
Carlisle thought I was going to build these walks in the subdivision we did. Fat chance but you gotta kiss the ring and get a report that they never read anyway. 😂
