.22LR MEGA THREAD!

I have a feeling this is the Federal Auto Match in a bulk offering. But who knows...

Oops! Clearly not I.
Federal Auto Match only comes in 40grain, non-plated...

Let us know how you like it Rocco. Thanks.

No tri-Mag couplers. They just seem too unwieldy for me.

I have Butler Creek hot-lips and steel-lips mags for plinking...

Oooh, consumer-grade felony-in-a-pack.

Well at least the price is right. .04 cents a round is what it cost before the panic buying. I just ran a box of Federal Auto Match and only had two rounds out of 325 that didn't sound quite right. TS USA also has Federal American Eagle in bulk at that price. Nothing wrong with investing in precious metals.

I've had 1 Failure to Fire out of 4814 rounds of Federal AM22 (so far; the millennium is young).

As promised:

Not in "sealed cans".
Not loose bulk either.
White box 50 rounds on plastic tray panel (like stingers) might even fit, who knows.
Makes range trips a little more compact.
These ARE Hollow-Points , Copper-plated, 36 grains.
Ammo "looks" nice.

Happy so far...

never had much luck with federal .22 in any flavor
my 10 -22 target tactical loves federal auto match. 325 round bulk packs for $16 these days. I have it stacked deep. Perfect ammo for steel plate shoots and steel challenge. Reliable for me and accurate enough for plates at close distances. If I'm shooting 100 yards I go to cci standard.

How do they compare in price?

How many per box/case, and what does that come to per round?

Anybody in Central MA who wouldn't mind unloading a couple (50) of these, I might like to buy a box off you to try it out.

I must be a .22 snob but I try to only shoot mini mags now. It just goes bang every time in all my guns.
Your not a 22 snob until you get past .18 cents per round !
Mini mags do go bang but have not been that good for me trying to hit that pesky X

How do they compare in price?

Target Sports has a few 4 cent offerings in .22LR. The Federal has always worked in my .22's so I thought I'd give it a go...

If it sucks I'll let you know.

ok, you saved 1/10th of a cent per, or 90 cents for the 1000. how much in gas did you spend to go get 'em? probably cost .50 just to start the car in the driveway. it just gets silly after a while splitting 10ths of a cent.

We hit Walmart after I topped off at Haffner's.
(It kicks).
love_lowell_haffners.jpg

Extra distance, 0.1 miles.
Car was doing 28.27 MPG at the fill-up.
Gas cost $2.899/gallon.

Plus, I finally got Walmart to accept my NH non-res P&RL as ID.
So I got that going for me.
Which is nice.

It 1/10 less cause it sucks:eek::eek:

Here's a topic for a killer NES poll - "Which sucks least - Thunderbolt, Golden Bullet, or Winchester White Box"?

Somewhat by analogy with...

And now here with the hourly NBC radio news, Charles McCord.
"NBC News - We Lie the Least".
Charles...?
- Imus, some time in high school...

I looked up "non-goal" in the dictionary,
and it showed me a faux antique wooden ammo box.

Can't lock them, can't fit them in a locking ammo can -
so they just waste space in the safe.

Thunderbolts are absolute crap in my experience.

And we're off...!

Ooh. The "dimple" in the center of that rimfire, where a primer would be on a centerfire, looks like it would aid the primer compound into the rim during centrifugal rotation.
Ensuring a better ignition.
Cool.
