I remember reading a reference to this story by Jeff Cooper, in an article in which he explored the tactical value of the .22. Thanks for posting it!
Is it just me, or does this: "... let's all be sensible and not panic and if enemy troops appear, don't resist them ..." sound a lot like this: "We really discourage people from self-help"?
An accident with a marlin 25 killed my brother.[sad2] Just one shot. I told my son the story the first day I took him to the rifle range (while we were loading up his marlin 25). He takes it very seriously.
