21 killed, 18 injured in shooting at elementary school in Uvalde, Texas

Not sure if it has been mentioned but Bill Barr's comment is spot on.

"I think we’re at the stage where the only thing that’s actually going to potentially prevent and intentionally have an effect are measures around the schools, especially elementary schools, to harden them, to make it much more difficult for someone to break in with a gun and keep shooting. And that will require better perimeter measures, not having the doors open where people can come in, but also police officers on site.

And that’s unfortunate," Barr told Fox News radio host Jimmy Failla. "It wasn’t too long ago where we didn’t have airport security. Anyone could walk up to the gate. And now, 20-25 years later, we have intense security at airports and in office buildings we never had. And now we do. And I’m afraid we’re at the point where we’re going to have to have it at schools. I mean, our most precious resources n these schools, are young children, and we have to take care of them and protect them.”

JFC, not every fed thinks like that. Not even close. You have the same percentage as here that are bigots, that think gays should be quarantined, we never landed on the moon, in any population you're going to have psychopaths. Psychopaths are good at getting away with it because they have no moral compass.
I agree with that perspective, however, given the power wielded by bad actors within these three-letter agencies it only takes one in a position to act on their psychosis to be a problem. Not to mention, some of the issues here live not just within agents themselves but are institutional issues within the organization.

Take the Whitmer kidnapping fiasco for instance. That operational disaster was not the work of a single rogue nut-case agent. It was a sanctioned operation driven not by serving a public good but rather by serving an institutional agenda. So, if agents of the government were in fact creating Manchurian Candidates to carry out mass shootings on command it would not be the isolated actions of a few bad apples.

I know my company is essentially "Virtue Signaling Lefties Unlimited" but I hate when they do this bs. When I first started I was on the e-com side of our business and some woman bitched about us hosting a gun manufacturer's website, so we dropped the contract, now I'm on the Gov SysSec team and it's still happening. almost 3k people have singed their little petition. Thank god they pay well or I'd likely be fired for what I keep typing and deleting. I mean, IDGAF about the NRA but the faux "caring" drives me nuts.

because their job is not what you think their job is?
no one has the obligation to protect you and your family except of you yourself.
Yeah cops serve to
1. generate revenue for the state
2. investigate crimes that have already been committed

So what is the job/career that is supposed to respond to a dangerous crisis in the moment?

It's about time leftists understood cops have no obligation to protect you. That being said, why become a cop if you're too afraid of the job?

I'm not NES-famous for being particularly supportive of cops, but even I can think of about forty ways in which that fragment of video lacks context of any kind.

Sorry, but I'm not going to give much credence to something called u/Lilyo from r/PublicFreakout. Maybe it is what it purports to be, but it could be many other things also.

I mean sure the video can be from any context but even the leftist Soros fake news outlets are saying the cops didn't do anything for up to an hour. Maybe this will be a call to defund the police even more lol.

may be, but it does not seem the only singular source stating the same version of events. nothing is for certain, of course, but so far it seems to be of what had happened.

so far is seems the SRO and police did nothing at all, with a strategic tactical wait approach, with border folks coming in to the scene as their kids were in that school. in desperation they called in their homies/husbands on patrol, and that group came and stormed into the building ignoring cops. if you have a better version - tell me, but it sounds realistic enough to me.

PS. that also explains why perp is dead and not presented now as a prized trophy on all the TV screens.

Love the "you don't have to live in America to decide whether or not we boycott a company that only matters to Americans (for the most part)

Yep. Wasn't it the Washington DC mayor that said the Police are not there to protect the individual, but the community at large. Pretty big statement that one.
i grew up with statements like that. interests of the person are secondary to the priorities of the society. purest soul of the socialism. interests of the collective is the only thing that matters - meaning, of course, interests of a person who maintains the chairman position as a ruler of the 'collective'.

'there is no necessity in you eating meat today'.

anyway, when a protection of personal rights and safety is getting replaced by a protection of 'public safety' - you do know what that means now.

I'm not sure, but at least he understands that the 2A isn't about hunting.

Elon Musk backs 'tight' background checks for all gun sales in wake of mass shooting in Texas3
Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of "smartest man in world is all for banning scary black guns". This is either good or bad depending on your position.

I see a man who has an evolving position. Five years ago, he probably saw nothing wrong with Twitter or the Democrat party, etc.

Today not so much.

Right now, with what he knows of scary black rifles this is a reasonable and balanced approach. Get him some education and it is likely to evolve more towards our end of the spectrum.

I have over the last two years watched a number of people make certain realizations about the world we live in, how it once was, and how it was supposed to be. Their positions have changed to a substantially more liberty minded position.

I could also be very wrong.

He is fine with the "highly vetted and most qualified" having them. Isn't that the NY system? "Highly vetted and most qualified" - meaning: greased the right gears? Nothing for the poors.

Shooter walked in uncontested there was no SRO there. Door that chose was also unlocked. 15 min walk from where he crashed to the school.

Pretty much every department in the country's SOP for active shooters since columbine is you get your f***ing ass inside close with and destroy.

These cops should be prosecuted if they failed to do that
That is the procedure and we've seen with almost all mass shootings since Columbine that first responding police don't follow that procedure and instead wait outside for SWAT.

And they don't get prosecuted because SCOTUS has ruled police have no duty to protect and because of that sweet sweet qualified immunity.

Having seen this twice now with Parkland and Uvalde, it's pretty clear that the role police take is to set up perimeters to stop others from going in to stop the shooter. The police basically aid mass shooters and allow the kill counts to go up.

That's pretty much the same thing that happened at Parkland. The SRO hid behind a pillar while Cruz was storming thru the school, then Broward County Deputies showed up and basically set up a perimeter not to contain the shooter, but to keep paramedics from going in to help those who'd been shot because the school wasn't "secure." It wasn't until Parkland city PD showed up that they went into the school.

The US is massive compared to just about every other country (Population by Country (2022) - Worldometer)
China can't be trusted to report anything correctly
India is a third world shithole where life is cheap and no one cares to report what goes on everyday

Outside of the western culture, life is so cheap most people are considered worthless and therefore their loss is simply unnoteworthy - that's why we don't hear about more events
China has attacks but they are knives.

The problem is that we have homicidal maniacs among us. Removing guns doesn’t fix that problem - there are other ways homicidal maniacs can murder unprotected children. And why we do we have homicidal maniacs? What is the cause?

It’s reminiscent to me of the guns and suicide problem. Removing guns still leaves us with large numbers of suicidal people. Whether they could or could not find other avenues to commit suicide is not the point (to me). Why do we have so many suicidal people?

Combining these issues with our reliance of depression medicines, mental health issues, drug addictions, etc. it seems that we, as a culture, have taken a wrong turn somewhere. That addressing each of these issues (gun violence, depression, drug addiction, etc) individually only exacerbates the underlying issue by masking and hiding the symptoms.
The answer to your questions is clear: Democrats. Every problem you cite has been caused by Democrat policies designed to destroy their political opponents culturally and economically, and to create a society of sheep who will keep them in power forever.
