Fellow Public Service operators,
The Boston Marathon Amateur Radio Communications Committee is currently
at 240 out of our goal of 350 volunteer registrations for this year's
Boston Marathon. Registration was scheduled to close on February 7th and
the BAA has granted us an extension until February 17th.
If you're interested in volunteering please register today. You can sign
up through
http://register.hamradioboston.org. Please share this note
with your ham friends / organizations that may be interested.
Feel free to send me an email if you have any questions. You can also
email
[email protected] to contact the entire committee.
If you are new to the idea of volunteering for the Marathon Amateur
Radio team, please don't hesitate to ask me what role(s) you might
serve. We are also planning a morning seminar early in March for all
Marathon communications volunteers.
When you get to the BAA registration site (through the link above),
you'll want to register as a "general" volunteer (regardless of your
license class, HI HI); the other option is "medical" and though we
support the medical operation and report through Medical Logistics, we
are not ourselves volunteering in a medical capacity. You then select
one or more of the "Amateur Radio" assignments..
Thanks and 73,
-Ralph KD1SM
