Hi folks,

here's the dates for this years Steel Challenge at HSC

April 18

May 16

June 20

July 18

Aug 15

September 6
This is a Sunday and will be an official 8 stage match

Oct 17

Nov 21
Will be an outlaw steel match
Two guns will be allowed for this one

All will be 6 official steel Challenge stages

except for September that one will be 8 stages

price is $20 this year and as always juniors shoot free

Check in starts at 8:30, when you show up you'll head over to the side of the trailer and under
the overhang the lovely Betsy Grecoe and her hubby Dan will be happy to take your info and your money !
You'll also be directed to fill out out a liability form

We ask that all folks have enough mags or speed loaders to shoot 5 strings, if you show up with
only one mag we might have a problem, if you show up with 2 or 3 mags then we can deal with
that, just know that we will expect you to get some more mags if you get hooked by the steel
Bug

All long guns must be bagged AND flagged before they go into a bag or cart !!

And as always there is no handling of firearms unless under the direct supervision of a Range
Officer or at one of the many "Safe Table" located around the shooting bays.
Absolutely NO AMMO at the safe tables

Here's the link to the Steel Challenge web site Steel Challenge Shooting Association Home Page - US Practical Shooting Assocation
you can check out more info there or if you have any questions you don't want to ask here you can
email me at [email protected]

As always we are looking for help in the form of RO's and nook operators, if you'd like to help let
the folks know when your signing up and we'll take care of you.
It would be nice also if we could get some match directors and stats operators to back up Mike &
myself in case of a vacation, work or whatever comes up.

And please, we expect EVERYONE to help paint targets and pick up brass, if you can't, then maybe
think about bringing out the daughter/son-niece/nephew-grand daughter/grand son or even
some kid from the neighborhood !! (but check with their parents first)

I most likely have forgotten something so I will be back to update the above when needed,
I'll try and keep folks posted through this thread about any updates or changes.

Bob the grill master will be out again this year with BBQ and Italian ices for those hot days

That's it for now, hope to see you at the match !
Ramon

Thanks for running the matches in 2020! Look forward to another fun year and to seeing you and the rest of folks there..
You are welcome at Hopkinton for USPSA any time!
Cheers
Bob

Ramon. This thread has caught my attention, the rimfire bug has bitten. Looking forward to April as our first steel challenge event. Going to reach via email now. TY!

Hello, How would a person sign up for competition?

We traditionally do registration on site the morning of. When we are finally able to hold matches we'll have to evaluate. It will depend on any state regulations or club rules about social distancing/squad sizes etc. What ever is decided will be announced in this thread.

Bad news again this months Steel challenge is canceled due to club rules in this awkward time
If we hold next months match it will be limited competitors and practiscore sign ups and payment
Sorry 😐

Great! Is registration open now?

Reg will open this Friday the 26th

I'm trying to get all staff registered first. If I can get that squared away tomorrow I'll set it up for noon Friday. If not, it will be Friday 6PM.

Also this is our first time doing online payments so I've set it up so you register, I have to approve you, then you can pay, and then squad.

Thank you to all that showed up to our first match of the season was a little hot towards the end but all in all looks like everybody had a good day and everybody stayed safe

Big thanks to staff and thank you to all that helped greatly appreciated
