It's time for hot lead again.

Cost $20 Via PayPal friends and family. [email protected]
Please put your full name and your NES handle in the notes.
This $20 gets you damn close to 100 years of bullet casting experience, breakfast, lunch and all the bullets you can cast while you're at the event.

If you have a firearm that you want to bring to slug the bore to see what size bullet you need to use please bring it with you.

If you have an odd cartridge or you're set on making a specific bullet please ask ahead of time and we can try to get the mould you need. If you know you shoot a ton of 38 and want the best wadcutter for the job just let us know. If you're dying to get your granddad's 351 WSL up and running let us know.

This is also a discussion thread! Please ask questions. If you're on the fence but have heard horror stories about casting please ask all of your questions here. If you don't think it will work for your firearms or style of shooting please ask here. If you don't think they have the performance needed please ask here. If you're worried about cost of startup or savings over time please ask here. If you're worried about health hazards please ask here.
This is a very rewarding hobby that can drop the cost of your reloading significantly and allow you to be the guy that shows up at the range with 1000 rounds to blow through every week.

Ok so here are some of the things you can do with
Paper patching rifle bullets to push to jacketed velocities with great accuracy and the best terminal performance possible with soft lead bullets.
3DF24B72-7453-4A72-B059-3D803A63AE78.jpeg
Cast hot glue bullets that can be shot and reused with primers only. Great for basement practice.
FF116D5F-2454-4550-A952-8B45813FE6D3.jpeg
Coated bullets in full house 44 Magnum that shoot accurately with ZERO leading. for about 5 cents a pop

Make your own reduced recoil buckshot loads with old trap hulls and cast round balls from a lee 18 cavity buckshot mould.

Make your own slugs to use in the same trap hulls for a fraction of the store bought price

Cast round balls for rifle and pistols to make "Gallery" or "Mouse Fart" low recoil low noise loads for pests and low cost target plinking. Great for training the kids on a rifle without any recoil.
BE5ABADA-E98F-4BBC-A51A-8BF7E14F0271.jpeg
Cast round balls sized down to .310" for use in rifle "Gallery" loads

200 grain 300 Blackout Sub Sonic loads. Cost is $10.69 per 100!! This is figuring if you purchase the lead at $1 per pound. Primers at $32 and Powder at $27. Using 12 grains of Powder. The average close to $1 a pop on Midway
BF77067C-A350-4ACE-A4A8-6C2B6088DEB0.jpeg
Coated 9mm 130 grain bullets that run 1.8 cents a pop at $1 a pound of lead. All the rage with competition shooters even in comped pistols. Compare at 6.8 cents plus shipping from SNS
6800D700-C4D6-48B0-90FE-D4546A58FCEE.jpeg
Cast coated hollow point wadcutter from a 1.75" S&W 642 into clear ballistic gel. Serious performance.

Triple round balls in a 45/70 reproducing the obsolete Guard Tower load. This penetrated through 32" of clear ballistics gel with a light charge of 8 grains of unique. I believe the velocity was about 900FPS. Thats like being shot by a Colt Walker 3 times. If buckshot is good this is excellent. Grouped about 6" at 50 yards.

300 Blackout gas checked plinking ammo. $16.70 per 100 same math as before but with 18 grains of powder and a 3.7 cent gas check.

Can't make the 17th - taking the wife on a well deserved trip back home to the Azores - she hasn't been in 25 years.
And leaving the kids home - first no kids time together in twenty years [party]

Any info on the details (pm) ?

The wife and I are planning to find a place to stay overnight and need to know where the actual destination is. Thanks.

1000 38 160 RN. and 800 45 230 RN. About a cpl of hours work the best part is loaded will be under $2.00 box if you want to shoot for basically nothing you have to cast.
Nice looking bullets!

$2 a box is what I'm talking about!
If you want to get good you need to shoot a lot. If you want to shoot a lot you need to be single, rich or cast your own.
