Paypal on the way. I would be interested in .38 spl./.357 magnum and .45 Colt. Currently purchase Hitek coated bullets for the .38 and .45.
I also very recently bought a Henry in .357M and would like to match a .38spl projectile with a .357M proj. for comparable cartridge overall length (Henry recommends that the OAL for the .38spl should be as close as possible to .357 and the bullet should be at least 158gr.). For example, I see that some Lyman molds (358311 and 358429) for 160 and 170gr recommend OALs within a few hundreds of each other. I haven't tried different lengths in the Henry yet, but I figure if I can stay close with one mold for both calibers all the better. Any and all recommendations are welcome.
I also load for Garand, .303B, and Arisaka and would be interested in what the options are, if any.

Awesome.
I recommend the 358156 or similar copies from NOE or MP.
Ray Thompson design. Dual crimp grooves so you can load it long in a 38 to mimic a 357 length and case capacity.
Very nice bullet. I’ll bring my 4 cavity version so you can try it out.

A dozen each of 2500+ and Carnauba Blue
A stick of each for everyone till we run out.

All in tubes with contact and ordering information in the baggies.
Can’t beat that!

I'm interested in trying to come out with a few .312's tomorrow to try in my arisaka and maybe my mosins or schmidt rubin 1889 (paper patch friendly?)

I'm so excited for this I feel like a kid on christmas eve. Each year previous it had been on a drill weekend for me, except for last year when it was on a saturday but i mistook the date and got it in my head that it was a sunday. I felt like such a bone head!

Anyway, i'm bringing my 'arsenal mould' in 9mm (124gr i think) and my lee melting pot and a bunch of botched 9mm I screwed up when trying to powder coat. we can turn it back into good old liquid lead and make something useful out of it :D

i'm bringing a couple rifles to possibly slug and some calipers...and a few casting books for reference if we need it.

We can accommodate that.

Oops - bad planning on my part. My son ships out for Army Infantry on Monday so I’ll miss the Seminar (again) as we get him on the road to a new career at age 19. Beats stocking shelves at Haniford!
That sucks. See you next time man. Congrats on shipping him out

All in all, I got A LOT out of the seminar. I feel like I have the confidence to give this whole thing another try.

Thanks again to Michael and 1919fan and the others that set up and shared knowledge and gave demonstrations.

Well, all the anti lead regulations doesn't help, I can't find free lead anywhere, so I just buy bullets already cast or jacketed.

They can try to tax ammo components, but besides powder and primers, as time and 3d printing advancement continues, we can start making our own copper/polymer bullets or just all polymer bullets. Hopefully in time a heavy, dense polymer can be made that better simulates the weight and relative softness of lead, but has a higher melting temperature.

what no you tube live feed! could not get to a match today and im bored shitless.... Been sorting through bins all morning...

Good idea for next year. We just need to figure out how to do that. We cast bullets here, we're pretty primitive you know.

Happy to finally have you there man. Great pics. I'm glad you got a lot out of it. When you're ready to paper patch give me a ring and we can sort it out.

This class was awesome, I had a blast meeting all of you and learning so much , it will take a bit for it all to sink in , you all were very well set up and awesome hosts for this class , I thank you all so very much for letting me come up and attend.
So much info , the long Guns were a real treat to see , and even the hand cannon. Lol.
To anyone with a remote interest in casting I highly recommend going to this class when next available , they are a motley bunch but that’s why I fit right in , everyone was so nice and willing to share there knowledge , and so much knowledge in one spot is rare. Thanks so much guys and I will be back.

I'll get my pics sorted and uploaded later. Great class...lots of info with the hands on you need to build a little confidence.

Mac1911...you like those hollow points...I cast those bad boys !!!!

Great meeting everyone. Thanks to the dedicated guys who put on the class...your knowledge and passion are an inspiration.

Great class! I was new to casting. It was nice to get the hands-on use of what's involved. I left feeling that casting is something I will be doing when I get the basic equipment setup. Many thanks to the hosts/instructors.

Some day I will get there , even if it’s just to hang out.
I was at least there in spirit
Took the 13lbs of range scrap I picked up last week and pulled 6lbs out of it. Plus I picked up a few ounces of pewter and smelted that down while my small pot was hot. I had a good amount of frangables in this batch .

Had a great time. Thanks to Shawn for the use of his garage and Mike for organizing it. Good to see Goose again and meeting new friends. Today dug out my old Lyman furnace and it still works. Found some old Telephone company lead sheathing I had stashed behind the garage and a bucket of wheel weights I got from a garage that closed. Long distance award goes to the gentleman who drove up from North Carolina for this event.

I had a really great time. Thanks to Mike and Shawn for putting this together. Every year I learn more. It is truly a privilege to be in the presence of so much knowledge and experience .Of course a tip of the hat to Bill for his insights. He has probably forgotten more then I will ever know. Great job all.

Nice! that box of lead you picked up if alloyed together would have gave you a "faux Lyman #2" if water dropped give you 15-18 hardness. Although a bit of a waste of tin IMHO.
