If you have never shot the Steel Challenge you have to make it to one of these matches. Once you do you will be hooked! This is the ultimate test in speed and accuracy!

  • Registration begins at 8:30 am and will end at 11:00 am.(Just show up between those times.)
  • Shooting will begin at 9:00 am on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Match fee $20.00 (Second Run or Second Gun $10.00)

  • 100 Rounds minimum (bring 185)
  • IDPA – OPEN - Limited – Revolver – Single Action and Rimfire Divisions (both pistol & rifle) and Pistol Caliber Rifles
  • ONLY traditional pistol caliber cartridges. NO magnums or center fired rifle cartridges as these will damage the steel targets.
  • PSC operates a "Cold" Range. No guns will be loaded except when at the firing line and ready to shoot.
  • This match will be run in accordance with Steel Challenge Shooting Association rules.
  • 160 Power Factor MAX! (Minimum Power Floor 750 FPS)
  • If you are shooting a carbine/rifle, you must bring the gun in a case. If you have a single point sling, or similar tactical type sling which allows the muzzle to point down when hanging, you can rig up in the Safety Area and move from stage to stage slung with the muzzle down and a chamber indicator in the action. Standard hunting type shoulder slings are not permitted for movement from stage to stage and you will need to keep the gun cased when not at the shooting line.
Please visit our website a couple days before the match for the most current information.

What you need:
  • Safety conscious attitude.
  • HAT, EYE AND EAR PROTECTION REQUIRED
  • A functional and safe firearm as listed above.
  • A holster mounted at the waist, that covers the trigger, and can safely hold/retain the gun. (Rimfire and rifles do not require the use of a holster)
  • Ammo Magazines. (Minimum of 3, more is always better)
  • NO Cover Garments
For new shooters:
We welcome new shooters to participate in our matches and encourage them to view the Steel Challenge Beginnners Guide Video on the Pioneer Sportsmen's Club website . This will provide the new shooter with some valuable insight about the match, how it is run and what is expected of you.
If this is your first time participating in this type of match, please let us know at registration and also identify yourself to the Safety Officers at each Stage as a NEW match shooter. He/she will respect you for your honesty and this will allow him/her to be more alert to your inexperience and help guide you. Approach the match with the mindset that this is an opportunity for you to learn and DON'T RUSH! No one is going to remember next week or next month how well you shot, but I GUARANTEE they WILL remember you if you muzzle them, forget to keep your finger out of the trigger guard, forget to place the safety on, or you have a negligent discharge.

If you have any questions, please email Andy Nash – [email protected]

strongbow67,

We're so glad you and your son could come and join in on the fun! There is rejuvenated enthusiasm within the club and we sure hope it was evident to all the shooters. I hope you and your son will join us at our next Steel match and also come and experience our IDPA matches as well.

This is a reminder for all shooters to come and shoot the Steel Challenge this Saturday, June 2nd. I also received this from the match director:
The venturing Crew556 will be joining us for their first match and staffing a grill as a fundraiser to them and benefit for us out by the clubhouse.
It will be a nice addition getting something to eat while attending this match. [smile] We look forward to seeing everyone!

Hi Shooters,

[grenade]
End the season with a BANG!

Once again our Venture Crew 556 will be setting up their grills and providing reasonably priced food at the match!

I also found out there is going to be a very interesting side match that should prove to be quite challenging!

In case the email train derailed before it made it to your inbox, here are the results from Saturday's match. Congrats to this months champions!

A special thanks to Jason L. for dragging his Texas Star all the way from CT. (Should that be renamed a CT Star, Nutmeg Star, Constitution State Star??? )

See you all next year!
