The Transportation Security Administration in a statement Wednesday said a 9 mm gun loaded with 10 bullets, including one in the chamber, was found in an Uxbridge man’s luggage on Tuesday. The gun was spotted when the man’s belongings entered the X-ray machine.

State police confiscated the handgun, questioned the man and issued him a summons.

The TSA says a .38 revolver and five loose bullets were found in a Worcester County man’s luggage on Sunday. He was questioned by police and allowed to leave the airport to secure the weapon.

Is the difference in response based on the Trooper's mood, or was the revolver less killy looking, so he was allowed to secure it off site?

Maybe the 9mm was in his carry on bag, and the revolver was in the other guys checked luggage, but he didn't declare it.

Was it the same State Police officer both times? Unlikely. Thats why two different responses. Remember Police response is never a standard thing and police dont know laws. Although in cases like this it should be cut and dry what is done.

Most of my state cop friends would have said go home and secure it. Or declare it and lock it properly in your checked bag unloaded per airline instructions.

There are other officers that are douchebags.

Or they decided the loaded semi was more killy than unloaded revolver, so thats why.

Likely the guy with the loaded semi was purposely jammed up because they want him to lose his LTC.

The reporting is intentionally vague as to what luggage they are talking about. This is to make it sound like having a gun in your “luggage” is illegal to the uninformed idiot.
When we all know that thousands of guns travel in luggage thru Logan every year.

In any event, the people are dumb.

I would guesstimate, that if the trooper was truly enforcing the laws (IE, NOT BEING A DOUCHE NOZZLE), that the pistol being loaded was the difference
Doesn’t sound like either was sporting a lock, Oh Lordy
