1944 Walther Pistole P38 AC44 in 9mm parabellum. Serial number 8233 no suffix is a January 1944 production P38. Original bring back full rig. Worn finish is about 80% condition, matching, with a great bore and grips. One e/359 (Walther) marked magazine, one e/88 (Spreewerke) magazine, and a soft shell holster marked ‘P38’ and ‘bml 44’ (Hans Römer, Neu-Ulm, Donau 1943-1944) in good condition with no tears or stitching problems. Illegible marking by the veteran with his name and serial number inside the holster flap.

Three down, one to go - all I need is a byf44 to complete my trifecta of 1944 P38s. I couldn't pass on the price for a whole rig that was $250 less than individual pistols on GunBroker.

Awesome find. Seems like the the bring back complete rigs are getting scarce. Any story with it?

No story; I have to sit down some day and try to decipher the name and number. I've a line on a byf44 rig with a story, but I have to wait for my money clip to recover from the BSW purchase coming up first.

Range report. Sunny, windy, 43 degrees. Blazed through 7 pre-loaded magazines of 115gr Winchester at 40 feet, rapid fire. This one ejects a little left, unlike the P1. Good shooter. One failure to eject stopped up the works.
