Picked this up on GunBroker for use as a loaner rifle in my WW2 group. Since they started charging sales tax, GunBroker isn't much of a deal anymore, not that it ever really was. Advertised as an ex-Ethiopian. Was already cleaned (externally) of dirt and goat droppings. Stock is an ex-Turk though. Nonmatching. Bore was dark and dirty, but bore foam, brass brush, jag, and bore snake revealed an average bore. Passed the field gauge test. A few dummy rounds loosened the action. Didn't feel the need to demount the stock or do a detail strip.
Rifle came with a VZ24 sight hood. I added a German one as well as a cleaning rod and reproduction sling.
1943 is the bnz SS contract year. Many fake ones out there. Some had runes and some didn't. But NO SS contract rifle EVER had a suffix; easy way to tell. So this 6615h is NOT SS.
Bore had some pitting; hope it cleans up a little better.
