This 1918 Colt was brought in by the owner who had tried to remove the rust. Well that removed the finish and not all the rust. We saved everything except the grip bushing. Not all the parts were refinished if they had good original color. The magazine was toast so we had to find another period magazine for the project. A new recoil spring was added for shooting, but the original was saved.

Got a good source to find the mags? Or just google-fu? My dad's got an '18 and '42 colt both missing the mags. In awesome shape otherwise.
He's got non-period mags.

I have two old Colt mags with the lanyard loops. One is two tone. If that's what your dad needs, PM me with your mailing addy and I'll send them to you. Jack.
