I decided to change out some parts on my SP Loaded 1911.

From Berryhill Custom:

Standard Spring Guide
SS Recoil Plug
ILS Upgrade with 19# Wolff Spring
Smooth Aluminum Trigger
Wolff HD firing pin spring
SS slotted grip screws
16# Recoil Spring (Wolff)

and also:

C&S Thumb Safety
Ed Brown firing pin #826
Ahrends smooth 1911 grips, madagascar rosewood

And here's the finished product!

I love the grips but they could be a bit brighter. All of the parts fit well. The trigger required some fitting. I'm thinking of doing the sear, disconnector and hammer in the future to finish up the trigger pull.

How much for those upgrades?

It wasn't too much, the grips were around $50 with the options and shipping http://ahrendsgripsusa.com/. Check out berryhillguns.com for his pricing on things. I thought all his prices were reasonable, and he has good reviews on the 1911 forums. You can find the firing pin and thumb safety on midway or brownells I believe. All in all it was under $200 I believe, and of course half the fun is just in the tinkering!
