Drop a pencil down the barrel and make sure it goes in far enough to confirm it is touching the breechface. How can you tell?
The only time I've seen guns locked up like that is due to a stuck round.
Small mirror and a flashlight wirks well also. Or a endoscope and the app for your phone.Drop a pencil down the barrel and make sure it goes in far enough to confirm it is touching the breechface.
It is a stuck round (unlikely given the narrative) lift the extractor off the case with a small screwdriver.
You are correct, sir.if my math is correct, OP identified the problem over 7 years ago

Great tip! This worked for me. Thank you very much! With a very firm grip hold the top of the slide with your weak hand pointing the gun in a safe direction. Open up your strong hand so you form a "U" with your thumb and index finger. Drive your hand into the back of the pistol grip as hard as you can. 9 times out of 10 this will dislodge the stuck round from the chamber.
