I have a 03 that has a rock island #347xxx action with a smith-corona 4 groove barrel. I was wondering if it would make decent deer gun? Was it one put together from extra parts? What kind of accuracy or lack of can I expect? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It will be a fine deer rifle.

Scoping it will be a bit of a challenge, but I'm sure someone makes a mounting kit. If they make them for No. 4 Enfields, they make them for '03 Springfields.

1903 receiver with an 03A3 barrel.

Springfields have been used as deer guns for decades - it'll serve that purpose fine. Your iron sights should be more than adequate for deer.

B-Square?? makes scope mounts for older military rifles. I bought one 10 years ago for a moose, it woorked great.
