In the 1850’s New England completely dominated industrial production. In 1860, 12% of all the cotton cloth produced in the world was made in Lowell, alone.

The declining cost of steam power after the Civil War let everyone else in on the act.

People forget that Mass was the center of gunsmithing back in the early days. And even without modern factories and CNC lathes, they made some incredible firearms. Works of art, some of them. Using tools no better than in your own basement.

I've subscribed to his channel. I like his explanations and even though I don't have interest in the types of guns on which he mainly works, it's still informative.
