I can think of a few much smaller, much safer towns of approx. 2-3 thousand people that did not make the list. (Essex,nahant,Byfield, & leverytown in the berkshires)

Andover and North Andover border Lawrence, one of the worst crime ridden ghettos anywhere, so lots of bad things can happen. This list is crap!

Meh - I live in Grafton for many years. It is a nice town with very little crime. Easy access to the Pike and 495. What isn't available in the town is surely within ten minutes in one direction or another.

I'm willing to bet that towns with Wal-Mart, or shopping centers show a high property crime rate. They are great places for shoplifters & car thieves. That skews the list big time.
