Hi All:
I'm interested in discussing 105mm vs. 40mm pros/cons, when to go 105mm vs. 40mm, experiences, applications of each variant, etc. I'm in the market for good shells and trying to decide. Here is my back of the envelope understanding:
105mm:
Packs a punch
Easy to use
Harder hitting round (> ballistic power)
Longer accurate range (on soft and hard targets)
Increased penetration on hard targets
Higher recoil
Requires crew (Dench can help)
40mm: (may want to break this out by sport vs. tactical as well)
Highly Ergonomic (fit many in pockets versus having to carry a backpack for the 105)
Easy to use
No crew required
Not very accurate
Lower weight
Low recoil
Lightweight round good for soft targets
Not so good on hard targets
Cheaper to shoot
