Honestly, I’m thinking church carry. As one of the ushers I’m part of the security. And a sap is one peg down from pistol, and less likely to harm elderly members than pepper spray indoors. And not as obtrusive as a Billy club.

But yeah, usually I just carry a gun.
 
Brass Knuckles, that's interesting. They are considered a deadly weapon.

Your Honor, I wasn't looking at my attacker, I felt a sharp blow to my head, searing pain, I was cut and bleeding, I thought he stabbed me, I had milliseconds to react and in fear of my life I fired in self defense.

I guess that’s the same thing really as “reporting” doesn’t mean what it used to. But you get what I mean.

Seems to be mostly a rumor, surmise based on the one cellphone video of the moments before and when the punch is actually thrown in the street.

I haven’t seen it reported. The facial cut is only explained by a ring, brass knuckles or another object. There is no way a bare fist caused that cut, especially with the size difference

Its a legitimate claim. He was suckered once, then outside, surrounded on atleast three sides according to the video and then suckered again, this time with some blunt object that caused a significant laceration on his temple, like brass knuckles, or rings, but certainly more than a bare fist. If he was punched with brass knuckles, that’s assault with a deadly weapon. Also, being surrounded on at least three sides makes retreat difficult. Even if brass knuckles weren’t found on the attacker at the scene, easy for one of his friends to have grabbed them from dead guy.

The paperwork says, “Defendant John Delee hereby notifies the state that he intends to rely on self-defense, consistent with R.S.A. 627:4 (II)(A) which allows the use of deadly force upon reasonable belief that another person is about to use unlawful, deadly force against the actor.”

In this case, Delee expected the evidence to demonstrate his reasonable belief that the complaining witness was about to use unlawful deadly force against the defendant, according to the court paperwork.

Delee further relies upon R.S.A. 627:4(II-a), “which provides that a person who responds to a threat which would be considered by a reasonable person as likely to cause serious bodily injury or death to the person or another person making the threat to the person or to another by displaying a firearm or other means of self-defense with the intent to warn away the person making the cheat shall not have committed a criminal act.”

Falkner said Delee expected the evidence to demonstrate he displayed a firearm in order to warn away a person or persons making or having made a threat that a reasonable person would consider as likely to cause serious bodily injury or death to himself. Delee noted, pursuant to R.S.A. 627:4 (III)(A), he had no duty to retreat because, at the time, deadly force was used in self-defense, he had the right to be where he was located. Delee was not the initial aggressor, and assuming arguendo, without conceding, that he had a duty to retreat, he could not retreat to complete safety.

Falkner filed a witness list for the bail hearing and indicated at least three people will be called to testify at the hearing scheduled on February 24th at 1:30 p.m.

I'm that way with traveling to other countries. Been to Spain, Mayorca, Italy, Malta. Bermuda, Bahamas. But now IDGAF about other cultures or places outside USA. They are all commie or socialist states.

He was surrounded on three sides by aggressors, but Judge Steven Houran said in his ruling that "the state showed clear and convincing evidence that Delee could not have reasonably believed that Pouliot was about to use deadly force against him, and he did not act in justifiable self-defense when he shot him." Pouliot also had just assaulted him with some weapon that caused a laceration to his temple, as clearly seen in the video.

Christian, my NES comrade, I get it totally! If I didn't have to, I'd never leave my street. People suck, and everything is a hassle these days.

To quote Bon Jovi: "It's all the same, only the names change; and every day it seems were wastin' away".
 
If you get sucker punched in the head by someone wearing brass knuckles and you retaliate that is called self defense. Certainly the vehicle used in the action of self defense could be a debated need in any court case but again we have another rogue Judge who is using his own biases and personal opinion to deny someone a self defense case.
