Thanks for the input guys.
Just a couple of random additional thoughts. Your thoughts on diminution of value are spot on. I was thinking/hoping that the resulting diminution in value would perhaps amount to at least a constructive taking. Same thing with the guns that will no longer be able to...
My question, as basically stated in the subject line, is does the proposal amount to a Fifth Amendment Constitutional taking?
It's not at all uncommon that many gun owners have hundreds, if not thousands (especially under recent market prices) of dollars in magazines that will become illegal...
Perhaps a practicing attorney could chime in but would the banning of possession of previously legally purchased magazines not be a violation of the "no ex-post facto laws" provisions. Would it also not constitute an illegal taking? I am rusty on this stuff and no expert on it. Hopefully someone...
You're right...you gave ample, clear fair warning not to look. And I did. And I dont know if I want to laugh, cry, beat my head against a wall, or just sit alone in a corner in total silence slowly rocking back and forth. These are our fellow citizens my friends...
Speaking of banana clips...Just got these three 40 round pre-ban beauties from a fellow NES'r. Showed up in the mail today actually. Standard capacity 30 round pre-ban mag in picture for comparison.
Just saw this thread and wanted to toss my two cents worth in.
The highest compliment I can pay a guy is to give him my business over and over, and I've done that with Lou at Business End Customs.
He's done a variety of jobs for me, showing he can really do it all when it comes to...
With all due respect, where's the "fail"? The article isn't about the distinction between the Taliban and "freedom fighters". I don't think "freedom fighters" are even mentioned. And even if the article did say that, I think we all agree that the Taliban calling themselves "freedom fighters"...
So many issues, parallel and otherwise, that I submit this without comment.
(I've never "linked" a story before, hope this works)

Looking for contact info for either of the above-named clubs. If there are any NES members that belong to either I would appreciate the chance to hear some details about either place.
Specific contact info for either would be much appreciated.
If there are any other places in the...
Nice responses here. Interesting to see that it seems like 5/6 years old seems to be the most typical answer here. My daughter's first real trip was at 5, after having been brought up on the "Three Rules" with her ABC's. Didn't really start shooting regularly until age 7, with her joining the...
Follow the link. Unreal. The hypocrisy is numbing, given that the Olympics feature at least one sport where firearms are used. I guess all guns aren't created equal...

I'm with jar on this one. I can't count how many things are wrong with the scenario outlined by the OP. Damage to the NRA and the good work it tries to do at a minimm, fraud/theft for failure to deliver services as promised at worst.
I could rant but the above sums it up.

I remember that tent at Topsfield! It was always the first thing I bolted to once inside the gates, whether it was a school field trip or years later with girlfriends, then the family. I could imagine he must have be robbed blind by people...the tent was packed with merchandise and lots of "low...
Thanks guys. Very much appreciated. I knew I'd get the low-down here... It never occurred to me that it would be a new store of that chain... If its bigger than the Salem store then its probably on par with their location in Conway, which is pretty big compared to the others.
Thanks again,
Steve
Thanks for the quick replies guys. Honestly, I'm not sure, but I may say "before" the Lynnfield tunnel. HAd the wife and kid in the car and I just barely caught a glimpse of the place on the right side of the road, up what looked like a bit of a semi-steep driveway I think. Big sign though...
Ironically, on my way to the Army Barracks Store in Salem, MA, we passed an Army Navy store on the northbound side of Rte 1. Now that I think of it we I'd guess we were around Peabody/Lynn. There was no convenient place to turn around and head south and then turn back north again, not knowing if...
Guys. I really look at this like the classic "Ford vs. Chevy" debate. Not a lot of right and wrong about what to do because everyone has a different reality. The reality, I believe, is that it is one of those 100% personal situational deals. Its going to be a different answer for every one of...
hey there, sent you a pm re: the magazines. Tried replying to the thread to let you know but for some reason I can't. (Have been a Green Member for years). Anyway, I was worried that if my reply couldn't post then maybe my PM could have snagged too, so I thought I'd leave a message here too. I...
