Ran across this and had to share - Ian from Forgotten Weapons helping open a crate coming into Royal Tiger imports. Note the extensive packaging. [rofl]
ATF Firearms Industry Operations Manual Obtained via GOA FOIA Request
I'm not an FFL - but I'm curious what some of our resident FFLs think of the ATFs manual on inspection. The linked article above has a link to the complete document, and I've attached the PDF to this post. I do have a...
I have a co-worker who's looking for mags for a Thompson SMG. Are there any to avoid, for reasons such as the new semi-auto mags don't work in original guns, or just crap manufacturers?
Saw a fair number on Gunbroker - anyone out there selling them in quantity? Right now he's just looking for...
Lee Sportsmans is offering a basic reloading course on June 24th. Jim doesn't make it out to the western end of the state often, so here's your chance. LSA is on Fairview St in Lee MA - about a 10 minute drive from the Pike exit in Lee. Larry K. is handling registrations, contact info is...
I've got a 22 TCM Contender barrel coming in about a month, so I'm starting to gather the rest of the necessaries.
Posing with a 9mm:
No SAAMI recognition for this one (yet), and not much for load data. The case is based off the 223 so there's no shortage of raw materials for...

December 10-11 at the Big E W. Springfield
Not everyone's favorite show, but it's closer to me than the rest by an hour. Going to try for Saturday.
For any of you WMass NESers who want to take EC's Precision Rifle Reloading class, but don't want to drive 2 hours to do it, one is being held at the Lee Sportsmans Association on 17 September, 10 - 3:30.
http://www.leesportsmen.com/lsa-calendar/ Contact information is listed in the event on...
My K31 has some cracks developing in the stock. Not really sure if the woods grain was poor there, or if someone is used this as a club at some point in its career. The stock matches this s/n rifle, so I have to keep it.
Is there anything better for this than the original thickness...
There was a discussion on this last year here on NES - Snipers Hide has just put up a decent article pulling a lot of that information together.

Picked up a Vz 24/47, and I'm looking for more info on it. I'm not real familiar with Mausers. My impression of it is that it's a variation/modification on the Vz24 (guess, based on a beat up Vz24 I have). It has that rearsenalled look about it, and looks like some of the parts were...
One of the guys I shoot with is looking for a source for black powder (he didn't specifiy which grade - based on his collection, probably all of them). Western/Central MA, Northern CT, Southern VT and NH would all probably work for him.
Actual black powder, not substitutes like pyrodex...
An old EA arms preban, cast receiver, complete with a really crappy painted finish. If it ever was anodized, they skipped the dye step - when I took the black paint off, bare Al underneath.
Before:
After a trip to US Anodizing for type III anodizing, color's what they call 'New...
Article: A Rifleman's War
An interesting read, I think - especially when I keep in mind the trouble I have with shooting at 400, never mind the 500-900 the article refers to. Found on Smallwarsjournal.com....
Remington Golden Bullet.....I've never met 22LR that was so dimensionally random that it would occasionally get hung up in a factory 10/22 magazine, and needed help to get into the chamber of a 10/22 and a Mosquito. Oh, and sometimes needs a second primer strike to go off.
And sometimes...
Just finished up my last ride in my town's ’94 Crown Vic……and it wasn’t the sort of ride that’s going to make me miss it.
Had to jump it to get it going, spent most of the shift wondering if the battery was ever going to charge, hoping the horrific stench from the catalytic converter was ever...
One of the other shooters on the line at the Bennington VT Appleseed shoot was storing their Boresnakes in empty MiniMag boxes. You know the box:
Toss the shell plate, and it's damn near perfect. One for each caliber, stores nice, doesn't get too tangled up. If you don't use CCIs, find...
