    Welding aluminum sucks. Welding and refinishing will cost more than buying a replacement. Drill a tiny hole at the end of the crack and it’s probably strong enough for casual use and even moderate LARPing. It's probably an ex-receiver if yours is an armory that cares about life and death...

    I was about to say, at 15yds the dot should be 2.5". That's perfect for a 3" paster. For the shooting you're doing, 16MOA sounds like it would be great.

    They stopped trying when Miller died. IIRC, one of the judges said "I served; we didn't use them; they're not protected" failing to know that, in fact, we did.
