Me too. I sent them my updated club info via email.... but looks like I may have missed out. Unless more shows up tomorrow which could very well happen. If not, oh well.
I will also be out at Camp Perry this year, so there maybe another opportunity.
Good luck with that... Seems like a lot of money, risk and work to build a range blaster. In the 3 weeks this thread has been open, you could have bought/built a rifle for under $1k and been to the range a few times.
Roflcopter....
You'd pretty much have to give that old upper away, you'd be lucky to get 3 or 400 for it. Maybe more if it's an SP1/A1 upper.
You're also comparing apples to pears. Parts kits are typically everything BUT the receiver and they appeal to guys who want to do clone builds, etc...
Haven’t read the entire thread, but I believe an FFL will have to enter your firearm into their ledger to ship it. Then you would need to have it transferred back to you? Seems like a huge hassle. I might be wrong though.
If anything, those wedges are just a mental thing. More confidence in the rifle = better shooting.
I used to stuff ear plugs in to get a tighter fit. Aero lowers have the set screw to take up the slack which I like.
Would be interesting to see the USGI spec.
I've handled and built enough Garands to know something was up with the op rod. You know how it rides on the underside of the barrel and wears off some of the park in that area? Well, the op rod was visually out of center there. I wouldn't use this op...
Rack grade PSA:
One of the guys at a club I belong to bought a rack grade plus? It's a rack grade with a new stock.
Receiver looked great, minimal pitting. I tore it down and inspected the rifle.
The op rod was bent. Not where it's supposed to be bent, but where the "rod" section turns into...
In general these are awesome. I have 2 sets, a backup and a primary because I like them so much. If the vendor offers a coating, get that as they easier to keep clean.
Can take a horse to water (the mill) but can’t make it drink.
Follow the actual mass law concerning post-ban bullds and you’re good. Remember, Healy never changed the law.
Post covid thing in general. And Colts are collectable, so they appeal outside of MA.
During Trump/Pre-Covid eta I snatched a few great deals on some pre-ban stuff on ARF. I don't really shoot the collectable Colt rifles and the pre-ban receivers have never been built out, which brings up my...
He'll def get traction, but IMO his brand of politics won't play well outside of FL and maybe a handful of deep deep R states.
The more I think about it, Trump just happened to get lucky with a lot of stuff or the timing was good due to external factors.
I believe Colt will simply tell you when the SN was created/logged in etc. I've called them before, but forget specifics.
If Johnny Law is scrutinizing trying to determine if your preban lower was built as a complete rifle once upon a time or not, you may already be in a world of hurt unrelated...
Yeah, I mean, Trump could move and motivate people for good or bad, as evidenced by J6.
IDK, we chest beat freedom here at NES but everything DeSantis is doing is contrary to that, unless you are in alignment with his very specific bubble.
Then even if you are, what are you gonna do what Pres...
Dutch's rifle is def a little more iconic. I've seen a few clone builds over the years in forums, online, etc. Same with the Scarface rifle.
You're right, the Scarface example has a brass deflector.
The evolution of these rifles is very interesting to me.
Dayuum @Cap'n Mike that build is awesome. I've seen Predator a million times (we all have, right?) but never paid full attention to this rifle.
So, have you actually shot the shotgun in this config?
Also, "The new round Colt A2 Handguards must have been tough to find and the LSOs were sourced...
