I saw a discussion in another forum about a guy who sent a copy of his stamp application to the local sheriff for sign-off.
The sheriff sent it back unopened. The explanation was that the CLEO no longer has to approve these applications.
Is this true? Does that mean stamps are now "shall...
I was at B&K today in Natick, to process a transfer from Cooler (nice place, nice guy). I filled out all the paperwork and handed the owner my license. After a minute he said there's a problem. :(
I started the process to renew my license about a month ago. It was due to expire in December...
I'm looking to buy a medium sized can of pepper spray, 1.5 - 2oz, not the little key-chain pocket carry type. I've called local Mass. gun shops and none carry that size. Maura won't allow mail order of the stuff.
Does anyone know shops in Mass. or southern NH that carry it? I mean for...
I stopped by Saxonville Armory yesterday to have a barrel pinned/welded. (I've used Adco in the past but this time they're not responding, probably due to threats from Maura.)
Nice guys there, they have a small retail section, but they said they're going to stop selling retail and just do...
I tried to order a new AR upper from one of the tier-1 manufacturers today. This was an UPPER not a lower. When I tried to check out a message popped up "We don't ship to Massachusetts". As a test I tried to order a rail.... same message.
This is really bad when supposedly big gun rights...
For NRA members this is a great easy way to notify your senator/rep regarding the pending Linsky legislation. All you do is fill in your name and address and they automatically provide a pre-generated letter and distribution list of all the right people to send it to. Just a couple clicks and...
Sounds like a great idea to get things started.....

Chapter 140 used to say that a rifle was not considered an "assault rifle" unless it has more than two of the "evil" features, pistol grip, bayonet lug, adjustable stock, etc. I wanted to review that wording in light of the recent crackdown by Healey, but to my surprise it appears they changed...
In the old days you could find light weight AR pencil barrels with a target crown, like the Bushmaster super light. Now however they're hard to find, if any exist at all. Almost all are threaded. I wanted a lightweight barrel without having to pin/weld a muzzle device that would prevent me...

I own a car. I don't HAVE to have a car, but I chose to purchase one. I couldn't buy just any car, it had to be one whose design has been tested and meets safety standards set by the federal government. My car is inspected every year by the State of Massachusetts to ensure it continues to...

I've been scouring the NFA threads, but couldn't find an explicit answer to this question.
I know even with a tax stamp in Mass I still can't have a suppressor. Does that mean all threaded barrels must still have a pinned/welded muzzle device on them?
If so it seems the only things a tax...
I don't think this has been posted.

It was a beautiful day today. I was at Four Seasons, having a great time. The place was busy, but Carl had at least 6-8 guys working the counters, and they did a great job. I spent some time handling a few guns, trying to make up my mind whether I really wanted to buy something today. I...
There are numerous threads listing Massachusetts towns where Class ALP is not hard to get. But are the chiefs in said towns usually willing to sign off on an NFA application as well? How many people with ALP get turned down for NFA?
Lawsuits in California are taking a toll against anti-ccw Sheriffs. Maybe Mass. becoming a shall-issue state isn't just a pipe dream?

It's been about 10-12 years since I was last active on 2 meters. I used to use a Yaesu 227RB back then, and later got a Kenwood TM-231a. Lately I've been thinking of getting back into it again. Both my old radios are broken down, flaky and not really usable. But before I make a decision to...
