  1. white screen flash

Today I am getting a white screen flash when changing threads within a topic or entering into a new page within a thread. A complete white screen for less than 1/10 a sec. Did we do something different since yesterday?
  2. Can't use the quote feature when editing.

I love the quote feature and use it quite a bit. I've noticed that when editing a post I have made, in spite of the quote being in the cue to add, it will not add the quote. It's not a big deal, I just post another reply and it works fine. I was just wondering why it is disabled when editing?
  3. Eagles and Rat Poison

Nasty stuff. I recall that the DEP was stopping rats from being exterminated by dry ice. Dry ice evaporates into CO2 but it's OK for wildlife to be poisoned by Warfarin. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/apr/09/american-eagles-rat-poison-study

  9. Luger Holster Identification

I've had this forever and every once in a while I go looking online. I have never seen one listed exactly like this one. Any assistance or questions welcome. The Luger is a DWM 1918, but we know how much that means. I cannot find any stampings on the leather anywhere. The belt loops and top...
  10. He had a good run

It is always nice to see old graves attended. When hunting deer in New Hampshire, deep in the woods and a goodly distance from trails or skidder roads, it always gladdened my heart to walk into a small graveyard of 1600 - 1800 vintage to see veteran markers and flags in good shape. A tip of the...
  11. Another SR 71 story

“As a former SR-71 pilot, and a professional keynote speaker, the question I’m most often asked is ‘How fast would that SR-71 fly?’ I can be assured of hearing that question several times at any event I attend. It’s an interesting question, given the aircraft’s proclivity for speed, but there...

  14. What to bring back from England

Friends grand son will be returning from a 2 year hitch in England. He is due to make E5 soon and has over 9 months left to be there. Does the military still ship stuff back for free when E5 and above? When I left from there in the 60's I could have had a car shipped on Uncle's dime. Being...

  20. UK Unknown Soldier

On November 7th, 1920, in strictest secrecy, four unidentified British bodies were exhumed from temporary battlefield cemeteries at Ypres, Arras, the Asine and the Somme. None of the soldiers who did the digging were told why. The bodies were taken by field ambulance to GHQ at St-Pol-Sur-Ter...
