  1. Odd results with 158gr LWSC .38 and Titegroup powder

Getting ready for a production run of .38 special and I have a decent amount of Titegroup available. Load data from Hodgdon shows 3.2gr - 3.8gr with a COL of 1.475. This is with LWSC 158gr bullets. These bullets (Falcon brand) have a ridge which is similar to a cannelure but stops the bullet...
  2. First run in new reloading setup

Finally have my reloading bench all set up in my new house. I moved in about 16 months ago and have been using my stored up ammo but I am now running low and needed to start a few caliber runs. It is amazing how fast you can go back into production on a Dillon XL650 with dedicated tool heads all...
  3. Opening Website page hanging

For the past ten days or so I keep seeing the opening page of the web site "Hang". It looks like it is waiting for the following to load -- Until it loads there is no main bar or ads or anything other than a few recent posts. It does eventually load but takes 30 - 45 seconds sometimes. I am...
  4. New Acquisitions August 2018

Decided I needed a Springfield XDs for some reason or another. Was looking for an H&K 45c but none in stock at 4 Seasons. Like the feel of it and wanted a single stack .45 for a while. Nice Crossbreed IWB makes it feel very concealed.
  5. Anyone heading to Standish Sportsman's Show tomorrow?

  6. Just when you thought you've seen everything.

Loading up .223 tonight. I have about 3k rounds to get done over the weekend but I am not in any kind of hurry. Things proceeding smoothly when all of a sudden the powder check alarm is going off on every case (Dillon 650). Sure enough, every case has zero powder. I disassemble the powder die...
  7. 686 revolver cylinder locked up

I was at the range this morning and my friend was shooting my 686 when it went click.. I am not sure but it may be a squib load (I was using 158gr RN reloads). I was standing next to him and did not hear a pop like the primer detonated with no powder, just a click like it had hit on a previously...
  8. Just went blue!!!

Stopped by Reilly's today on my way back from upstate Vermont. XL650 with .38/.357 conversion kit, Case feeder (small and large case plate) Aluminum roller handle, misc parts kit ($875.00). Now I need to start a collection of caliber conversions, toolheads, light gizmos, spent primer ramp...
  9. Problem metering Unique with Lee autodisk

Wanted to get a large batch of .38 158gr round nose done. I checked my powder stock and decided on Unique (had a couple of pounds). Chart lists disk 43 which should equal 4.0gr (max load listed is 4.3). I ran 20 cases through it while checking for weight consistency and it varied between 3.7gr...
  10. Problems sighting in a M4 style AR-15

I have a AR-15 with quad rail setup, 14.5" barrel and a 2" brake. I have Magpul BUIS on the top rail (front and rear sight). When shooting an initial 5 round set today (first time shooting this gun) every round was approximately 3' - 4' high. I adjusted them down as far as they would go but the...
  11. MFS information

I am headed up near Holliston way tomorrow so I thought I would head over to MFS while my wife kills an hour and a half with her mother. I have never been there so I was wondering if anyone with experience with their facilities could let me know how to have a smooth visit. I want to bring my...
  12. H&K Magazine prices

Recently purchased a P30 in 9mm. Comes with 2 x 10rd magazines. I always have 4 x magazines for my pistols so I started searching around to pick up 2 more. I searched for 2 days and not one store had them in stock... So I signed up for a "notify me by email when they come in"... Got the email...

Nice fresh batch of 1000 each .223 55gr FMJ, 2.20 OAL, H335 (24.5gr). Now I just need somewhere to shoot them... Damn Barnstable range is still closed.

I have to head up to Burlington VT for a few days next week. Anyone know if they have supplies (reloading, powder, primers etc) in stock?? You would think things have to be better anywhere but here...
  16. Grinding off bayonet lug

A question about grinding off the bayonet lug on a AR-15 upper. I was wondering if anything needs to be done to the metal after the grinding is done? Do you now have a shiny chrome looking part surrounded by black? Should I just bring the upper into a gunsmith to get it done? Thanks.
  17. Falmouth Rod & Gun

Anyone a member?? I was hoping for a look around at the club and possible sponsorship for joining. Also any thoughts on the membership and facilities would be nice. Thanks
  18. First .223 rifle reloads

Very please with my first .223 reloads. After a week of case prep (3000+ cases) I finally loaded up 10 rounds with H322 and 10 rounds with Varget. I figured since I was prepping the cases I might as well do a lot of them.... Varget - doesn't meter that great, I saw variations between 26.2 and...
  19. .223 case prep

So, after reloading around 30 - 40k rounds of .38, 9mm, .40 and .45acp I have decided to take the leap into rifle caliber reloading. I have picked up quite a bit of case prep tools and have watched a gabillion youtube videos. My idea of the process is as follows; 1. tumble brass 2...
