Default Question About gun laws in vt

Hey everyone. I'm from mass, headed to vt for the wknd and I wanted to tote my shotgun up there with me for the camping trip. Just to play around with. Shoot at a sand pit up there where a bunch of others do... Question is, is there any laws preventing this? I don't want to learn te hard way while just playing around...
    Thanks

No problem with VT. Just transport it unloaded and locked in the trunk and you'll be fine.

Note. Once your in vt the gun must still be unloaded in the car (hunting law). But does not need to be in the trunk. In other words my rifles are in the gun rack in my truck window when I'm up there.

Older thread but my question is a follow up. I assume handguns and other rifles, the same rules would apply.

What about the the trunk requirement. If you have an SUV you don't have a separate trunk. Would the back cargo area satisfy this? It's not separate but it's as isolated as you can get in an SUV.

Just unloaded. As mentioned it is an anti road hunting law, not a stop drive bys, punish lawful gun owners with onerus regs law.

Handguns can be loaded in a vehicle. Only rifles and shotguns have to be unloaded in vehicles.
