    Default Sig P6 problems.

went to the range today and my p6 kept jamming. some stovepipes, some fail to feed and some fail to extract. some times it would extract the shell but fail to feed a round off the mag. Also the slide doesn't lock back after the last round. Shot in total 100 rounds and only one 8 round mag had no issiues except the slide not locking.

    is this a mag problem?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Are you saying that it worked with one magazine, but not the other? If so, that certainly would suggest that it is a magazine problem.

    Yeah, that.

I'd bet ammo at the low end and a fairly new recoil spring. I've seen that in several handguns. The culprit was the ammo - in my case, Speer Lawman Cleanfire, 124gr. Just a little too anemic for a new recoil spring in a gun meant to handle +P ammo.

I will try new some different ammo if I can find any. I may be sending you a pm if that doesn't work.

    Thanks

I am assuming that you had a nice firm grip on the gun, because "limp wristing" can cause the same problem, but I'd say bad ammo, because the chances of 2 magazines going bad at the same time is almost infinite to one.

If you are near Salem NH PM me I can give you 50 rounds of speer gold dot to try and a couple of magazines to borrow.

Update: I tried my reloads and had no jams. the only problem I had was the slide wont lock back on the last round.
It locks back with an empty mag and me pulling the slide back just not when i shoot.

    A few possibilities:

    - worn or poorly fit slide stop
    - weak ammo
    - weak magazine spring
    - worn magazine follower.

Failure to achieve slide lock is Łber-common with Sigs and largely a result of the shooter riding the slide release. If your thumbs are in the right position you're almost going to be right on top of it. From time-to-time if I'm sloppy with my grip I end up thumbing the slide release at just the wrong instant.

Try it again, but be extra careful to not touch the slide release and let us know if that solves the problem.
