Default MA dog owners new laws!!

My wife and I volunteer for a Boxer rescue and as such belong to another forum (yes... there are one or two other forums besides NES out there).

Anyway, as a result, I came across this little tidbit about our wonderful state and some potential plans they have for dog owners our K-9 friends.

Firearms are not the only thing they want to legislate against in this state.

Take a look and please contact the members of the Steering, Policy, and Scheduling Committee, and implore them to not send HB 5092 to the floor for a vote. Contact info is at the end of the AKC memo.

Requiring the reporting of all sales of puppies to local jurisdictions.
Wow! What a crock of sh@t! This state never ceases to amaze and scare me.

$500 a year to not neuter your dog? These rules are so bogus. I dont have dogs either, but they go to far.

right now vets are required to notify the towns whenever you bring your dog to be treated.

I got a new puppy a few years ago, took her to the vet for shots. A few days later I got a letter from the town saying that I had to get a license for Rocky.

When I went to the town hall, I asked how they new about my puppy. They said the vets are required to notify them.

BTW, congrats on helping out Boxers, my parents were breeders for close to 25 years.

Wow....really $500 because my dog is not fixed? Pure insanity!!

So in Massachusetts Ill have to have my dog fixed or it could end up costing me big bucks, yet perverts, molesters and rapists can walk the streets?!?!

    .......disgusting!

    Thanks Bill.

I probably should have posted the link http://www.secondchanceboxer.com

We adopted our boy Max 4 years ago when he was 9 months. He is the coolest guy and truly my best friend. By the way these new laws would have a HUGE impact on the K9 rescue goups and their foster homes. I just do not understand people's thinking in this (and some other) states.

As with firearms, it is probably some society "do-gooder" or some "anti-dogger" who has a bad perception about a certain breed of dog that started this whole thing. Of course all of us rational people know there ARE NO "bad" breeds. Perhaps they need to watch some enlightening programs like Dog Town or Dog Whisperer, talk to some rescue groups, owners or breeders. They might learn something.
