Default ACLU Attempts to Ban License Plate Recognition Tech.

I say go for it ACLU. The ability to database and track people is just as bad as the NSA snooping.

"The American Civil Liberties Union is trying to ban the use of license plate recognition (LPR) technology that supporters of the program say helped catch the Boston bombers and the man responsible for the attempted 2010 car bombing in Times Square.
The technology, which has become popular in the past decade, lets police officers potentially determine a person’s location at the time of a crime by running plate numbers through secure databases maintained by individual states. It is presently used in every state, the ACLU says...License plate readers can be used for tracking people's movements for months or years on end, chilling the exercise of our cherished rights to free speech and association..."

Combine "The FBI is weighing the use of video recognition technology to quickly identify suspects, even if all the camera has captured is a perpetrator’s limp or fraying blue baseball cap"

With signature drone strikes and you've really got something amazingly frightening.

Doesn't matter, just so long as we're at war with someone so government has a reason to protect us. Show Big Brother some love.

I wonder if this means they'll finally capture Keyser Soze.
