Default Tractor Supply gun "safe" on sale

In one of the other threads about storage, many folks wrote about having two safes.

If you are in the market for a decoy (or just want something small to keep firearms out of the hands of the children), Tractor Supply has their Sentry ten gun combination "safe" on sale (in store purchase) until April for $279.

At under 135 pounds it's light enough to drag up or downstairs by yourself, and at around 55 inches is small enough to tip and fit in a short bed truck or car with fold down seats.

I have 3 smaller safes like these, the biggest being the 16 gun Stack Ons. The other is a 10 gun Stack On, I bolted the 3 together side by side so it makes one unit that holds 42 guns and sits up on a couple 2x4's. The center one is chained to a support pole and they reside in the basement. They work great.

Costco.com has a much better Sentry Safe model EM1055EP for $399.99 DELIVERED.
EM1055EP has an electronic lock and some basic fire protection (20 minutes) vs. G1055C's cheapo dial lock and NO fire protection whatsoever.
And free delivery on a 221lbs item?
I ran out of excuses to delay purchasing a gun safe.
    Ordered two.

I have one of these, or an older version of it. Just make sure you bolt it down and/or into walls, as it's not that hard to move. It is woefully inadequate if you have guns with barrels longer than 20", though. You will only be able to get a couple of fudd shotguns or Mosin 91/30s in it, as the shelf will block them, although there is a sort of a cutout on the sides....

You will not get this in a car with fold down seats, unless the car is a wagon. A small pickup or larger is best.

This could good be a good safe to put shelves in and use for Handguns and ammo. Instead of long guns.

I have a 10 gun Stack on from Sports Authority

Its actually cheaper at the store than online. Don't let the thickness of the door fool you. The walls are not as think. I bolted it to the floor and like very much. Plan to buy another real soon.

I went to check this out at a TS the other day.... the floor display model had the top seam split open just from regular handling.
It did not inspire much confidence....

They are on sale again, at least at certain Tractor Supply Stores.
