Default Buying a side of beef in Massachusetts

I think this has been covered but I was unable to find it by searching. (I really did try.)
Where would you suggest I look to buy either a whole cow or a side of beef? I'm thinking of starting a mini-cooperative with some friends and family and dividing up a whole cow.
Any suggestions on where to look? Most of the places I've found don't list the prices for a whole animal.

    Thanks

Try calling Blood Farm in Groton. They're a slaughterhouse that also does retail sales and should be able to fix you up. (978) 448-6669

Blood Farm is great. Price depends on that days market price plus butchering and disposal fee's for the carcass

What a relief. Reading the title I figured buying a side of beef was illegal in MA.

Obviously I would stipulate that the horns must not be threaded and / or resemble a pistol grip. That goes without saying. (:

Blood Farm is probably your first stop. There are two farms selling local beef in Littleton on rt 119. I think one is Springdell Farm(grass fed and supplying Gibbet Hill in Groton) and the other is next door (corn fed, but local).

Of course they both might use Blood Farm for processing.

My brother owns a wholesale meat packing plant in Boston.
    Do you want it "swinging"?
Are you going to cut it up yourself?
A whole side is about 380 pounds (hind and forequarter)
