Default Introducing the Tactical Development Group

    1. Today represents the culmination of nearly a decade of work and I am proud to make this announcement here first!

On 1-11-11 I launched the public face of the Tactical Development Group at WayOfTheGun.com! Made up Operators from Special Forces, NAVSPECWAR and Federal Law Enforcement as well as civilian Emergency Services personnel, the Development Group has been in operation in one form or another since 1998. Our subject matter experts have conducted training and operations on 5 continents and served with distinction around the world in the Global War on Terror. We have trained hundreds of civilian shooters, foreign military personnel, and Operators from nearly every unit of USSOCOM. Our members have presented at regional and national law enforcement conferences and we have partnered with some of the most respected and well known trainers in the industry, such as Wes Doss from Khyber Training.

2011 marks a new era in Tactical Training in New England! The Development Group will be offering regular training in weapon handling and tactics at reasonable rates along with quarterly advanced concept courses such as in-home CQC and kinetic pistol deployment. In addition to gunfighting, the Development Group will be furthering its mission of seeing every responsibly armed citizen trained in CPR and First Aid. We have partnered with GOAL to offer regular classes in American Heart Association certified Basic Life Support (CPR) and First Aid.

Please visit our site at www.WayOfTheGun.com and subscribe to our newsletter. We will be offering specials on training and gear only through the newsletter! You can also find us on Youtube (TACDEVGRU) and Facebook (Tactical Development Group). Links to both are on the site! We'll be updating the site regularly and will be adding alot of products after we return from the SHOT show!

Also, check us out on DownRange TV! TACDEVGRU instructors Greg Carlson (USDOJ SPEC OPS, ret), Dennis Daroczy (NAVSPECWAR, ret) and Bill Lewitt (Paramedic, RN) are all featured while teaching last August at the Warrior Conference in Reno, Nevada! Here's a link to the trailer:

We would not be here today without the assistance of alot of people and I'd like to thank a few of them publicly; Michael De Betterncourt, Ralph Mroz, Bank Miller (Director SigArms Academy, ret.), Joe Picariello (MLEFI&AA), Wes Doss, Rob Pincus, and Jim Conway (NEShooters). Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years.

I look forward to seeing all of you, either at SHOT or on the Range!

Do you guys have a home location? Also any plans to offer "Home Defense" - shoot house style classes in New England area.

    Good luck!

We are defintely offering close-quarter training. You gotta train the way you're going to fight, so if home-defense is one of your main concerns you have to train to shoot in small rooms, in the dark, up or down stairs, and in narrow hallways.

We use a mix of Sim rounds and Airsoft based on where we're teaching.

Sorry for the delay in responding. We've been here in Vegas for SHOT.

    Bill,
Thanks for the reply. What about NOT force on force training. Do you plan on having house clearing classes with live ammo in a shoot house style environment?
Do you have a place in mind where this kind of training can be conducted?

    Thanks again!

    Andy,

We're doing all of the above. As for ranges we're at Pelham for sure, most likely Westford, and looking for other ranges in the region.

My instructors are all SOCOM guys, so you can expect that level of training.

I wanted to know when you would be posting a calendar, price and required equipment list to your site. I would like to take some of your class especially the medical training.

    Thanks.

The website went up in short-order just so I had a somthing to direct people to at SHOT. I'll be updating the site in the next few weeks with a training calander.

What's your level of certification? I'm planning on getting NAt. Reg and OEMS credit for all the classes.

    Bill
