| NES Member | A 3 cat limit! linky Dudley puts limits on cat ownership DUDLEY, Mass. -- It's now illegal in one Massachusetts town to own more than three cats without getting a special license. Voters at a town meeting in Dudley on Monday night added language to a town bylaw that makes it illegal to own more than three cats without a $50 residential kennel license. Dudley is about 60 miles southwest of Boston. The article was in response to a neighborhood feud over the 15 cats owned by Mary Ellen Richards. The Telegram & Gazette of Worcester reports that one neighbor claimed the cats have ruined his yard. Richards has put her home up for sale and says she plans to move to a "more cat-friendly community." (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. | Moderator | So, these jacksoffs designed a bylaw so they could defeat a CAT LADY? Cut me a break. This state is pathetic. -Mike __________________ "Do this. Don't do that. Stay back in line. The club tried to use the law protecting them from noise ordinances passed after the club started operation, but the judge ruled "no proof the club has been in continuous use since it opened therefore that law is not applicable; the club is ordered to stop shooting; next case please" and the club could not afford an appeal. The neighbor even hired a private detective to join the club as part of the case preparation. So, they have problems worse than cats to worry about. __________________ Check out the USPSA Northeast Section at www.uspsa-ne.org, and the USPSA nationals site at www.uspsa.org |
