If you haven't ever shot a service rifle, or want to learn how to properly shoot from prone, sitting, and offhand (standing), I highly recommend this clinic.

For those that have been, is this mostly for someone with no competition experience, or just no high power experience?

Did one in Glouster. learned a great deal. Low intimidation for the new to shooting people.
I own, what is mine.

The raison d'être of the CMP is to teach civilians to be better shooters. If the biggest thing you've ever before shot is a .22, that's fine. The recoil of the .223 is very mild. The hands-on instruction will make you a better shooter, even if you don't plan to ever shoot in a competition.
