I have a Lyman dial caliper and it works just fine. Maybe $25 or so from Brownells.

I got this one from amazon.

Add something else you may need to get the free shipping (or if you have prime then you are already good for free shipping)

I have a mitutoyo dial caliper and a cheap $25 digital. For the money, go cheap.
If you need real precision, you should use a Mic.

I dolled out the coin for the more expensive brand name one..........swear to go its the same 20 pos that's out there. And for what ever reason pisses through batteries.
I have a cheap 20 one also same friggen thing I swear....this one the batter last over a year. I see no difference other than the crappy sticker with snappy on it.

I had bought a digital one when I first started, but it sucks on battery life. I bought a cheap Frankford Arsenal dial model and it works fine.

I have this one, too, and it works great for me.
