It's NOT paid for by the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act." The act simply allocates YOUR MONEY to pay for it. So... if we must put up signs (at a cost of ~$2000 each so that you'll feel better about confiscatory taxes) I propose some truth in advertising:

Up until a month of two ago, there was one near my house in Taunton. "Paid for by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act", right in front of a huge crater. I wish I had taken a picture, it was definitely very symbolic of how I view this administration.

Me too, & I'm one of the unfortunate a-holes that occasionally works on these highway projects. They've been in the works for years...the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" is just another .gov rip-off....it has not created any new construction work yet.

but what about the jobs these projects save?! since the new buzzword is "created or saved".

just another reminder of how they are spending away our and our childrens' futures. hell, i'm not even anywhere near the age when i'd want kids and i know their futures have already been sold.

The signs piss me off too, but the first thing I thought when I read your post was "I doubt they cost $2,000 each, that seems a little off base."

Then I remembered this was a govt project and now I think you may have low balled your estimate!!!!

Actually, I've found numbers from $1500-$2000. But if they were $1, that'd be $1 too much.
