Default Suggestions for pulling coax cables from the basement up to the attic?

Are there any tricks/tools I should consider when pulling coax cables from the basement up to the attic? I need to pull three cables and it is a straight shot up/down. I would like to use the wall that separates my kitchen/dining room and the garage.

I've pulled cables before but mostly just part of the way to install electrical outlets. The only time I pulled it all the way from the basement to the attic was when the Sheetrock was off.

    Any suggestions?

One big tip is...you can pull all 3 up at the same time, but DO NOT just tape all 3 ends together.

Tape the 2nd cable to the first about 2-3 feet from the end, then the 3rd to the 2nd another 2-3 feet down.

Other than that, if you can drop a line from the attic all the way to the basement down that wall, just attach the first cable to that line, and pull.

I'd use the wall where you roof vent goes up.

I've used the vent wall for some of the cables and that was nice and easy. However, the other three cables are nowhere near the vent so I would need to use 4x - 5x the amount of cable as compared to a straight shot up the wall.

I recently did this for mounting a TV on a wall with all cables hidden. I drilled a hole (1/2") in the 2x4 header rail in that attic and another one in the ceiling of the basement. Of course getting it exactly right between the same studs was a little difficult - lots of measuring etc. I was lucky in that there was an outlet on the wall that I was working with, so I knew where I wanted to be on the bottom end. Once I had the holes I weighted a string, went to the basement and made a big loop out of weed wacker line and put it up from the basement. I lowered the weighted line and pulled the loop out from the bottom. It took me a couple times before I actually caught the weighted line but it did work. Later I thought I should have used a nail on the string, and a small magnet I have for retrieving car parts - that would have been a lot easier.

Is there a reason you can't run just one cable then install a splitter in the attic?

    This is very good advise

Try finding a opening around the chimminy. Mine goes right down from the attic to the basement.

These are for video surveillance cameras so I cannot split the signal and I do not want to have the cables hanging outside in case someone decided to cut them.

If you have an older house with a chimney, drop a line from the attic down with a small weight on it then you'll have a line to pull everything up.
