Self-Defense Reform to be Considered Very Soon in the Granite State!

    Thursday, April 01, 2010

Please Contact the Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Today!

The Senate Judiciary Committee could consider House Bill 160 as early as
    Tuesday, April 6.

Simply put, HB160 would allow a person to brandish a firearm in response to
a forceful threat. State Senator Robert Letourneau (R-19) will be offering
an amendment to strengthen the measure.

Please contact the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee TODAY and ask
them to support Senator Letourneau’s amendment and to pass HB160. Contact
information for the committee can be found below.

    Thanks for the information.

Also, don't forget to contact Govenor Lynch's office. Remember, both houses of our legislators passed an ammendment to the use of deadly force in our competing harms law (Self-Defense) to include no expectation of flight anywhere (removing the in home, vehicle or property phrase) but the Govenor vetoed it.

I apologize for bringing this topic back from the dead, but does anyone know if this passed, and was signed by the governor? The only things I could find online was that it was going to the governor to be signed, and nothing after that.

I've already seen that, which, from what I'm seeing, only shows that it was passed by both the house and senate, as amended, but I've yet to see that it was actually signed by the Governor. Maybe I'm a little confused here, maybe not. Who knows.

Brandishing in the face of a threat is for fools.
It's only time for drawing if your life or well being, or that of another, is in jeopardy.
If it's time for drawing, it's time for shooting.
If it's time for shooting, aim center mass.

I love it when people say you should aim for an arm or a leg..... Center mass.... Always, no exceptions

You have a better castle law in Massachusetts than NH even after HB160.

I would love to hear how you came to that conclusion.

On a side note, I'd be willing to bet that even if it was a good shoot you would be far more likely to be charged in MA than you would in NH.
