I'm all for exercising rights but this guy seems like a douche bag. And the cops said "sidearm" a few times so I think it's more likely he was just open carrying a pistol... Not sure though.

He knows his rights. More than I can say for most people. Don't exercise your rights, you WILL lose them.

Its a slippery slope, though. I agree that he did nothing wrong, but his attitude with the PD is a problem.
The police are just doing what they are supposed to do in this situation and arguing with them does not educate the person that called them in the first place.
They even told him to "start your campaign".
The thing we don't see here is if the police afterwards reached out to the person that called in the first place and helped to make them realize that they need to learn accept that open carry is legal and they need to deal with it or move to CA, NY, IL, MA, etc.

wooo wooooo wooooo wait one minute here. So it's his legal right, he does it, gets hassled, and everyone starts calling him a Dbag. If this was some hot jewish broad in a bikini it's kickass, but here in 'murica he's just some douche hassling the cops. ****, at least he has more balls than most of the "i'm all for freedom and liberty crowd" that run around here. Good for him, maybe if he does it enough he can make all the wind bag liberals realize guns aren't some icky evil thing. The rest of america however will sit in their dark little corners talking about how "when they come to take em i'mma fight back" but in the meantime, "shhhhh don't talk about guns they might come take em"

Doing what they're supposed to? So if I go stand on a park bench and start talking and holding a sign, should the cops "do what they're supposed" and hassle someone for free speech? No you should be left alone, last I checked this was supposed to be a free nation. **** guess I was wrong

I dont have an issue with him exercising his rights but he acts like a jerk about it. Its one thing to walk around with a 1911 on your hip but completely different to sling an AR15 over your shoulder and take a walk. To me it just smacks of a cry for attention.

What's the difference? They're just guns. When we put them on a pedestal, we create this environment where police harass people for doing legal things.

    This.

This kind of reasoning is the exact reason we have stupid ****ing catch phrases like "assault weapon"
