NEW DELHI – India's energy crisis cascaded over half the country Tuesday when three of its regional grids collapsed, leaving 620 million people without government-supplied electricity for hours in, by far, the world's biggest blackout.
    Damn...620 million people...

Well, what do you expect from a 3rd world country?

I was in Chennai two years ago and the power would go out for 10 seconds to a minute multiple times a day. Made training a real bitch.

If you go to the rural parts of India(Himalayas), the power goes out on a daily basis. Even with all of the hydro electric dams that they are building right now.
A few places had solar power installed, but after a few years they tend to fall apart.
