USPS unable to pay retiree benefits
The USPS is supposed to be making a payment for retiree's benefits. And they are about to default. This payment is supposed to go to the US Treasury. So who do you think will be picking up that tab?

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and all the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called 'patriotism'. " - Kenny Powers

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - C.S. Lewis

The prefunding was done for when the post office had 750,000 employee's. The post office now has around 550,000 now and plan to cut another 150-200,000 jobs so technically the post office is actually over funded their retirement and are currently funding your grandkids retirement 50 years in the future.
No one would do it, you trade your knee back and life for good pay, most of the carriers cant walk at all by the end of retirement or have hip/knee/back problems. You do minimum wage no one would do the job.
If you saw the mail thats delivered daily you would change your mind. From personal experience 1-2 shows you have no real concept of how much mail is delivered on a route and mail volume.

The saddest part of all this is that the post office is one of the VERY FEW things listed in the constitution as an actual responsibility of the government. Even with that requirement they still managed to **** it up.
