They needed an entire 2.4 seconds from the car coming to stop to release.

Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself....
you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?"

    That's team work!

    Time to change F1 rules:
    Must use scissor jack
    Wheels are now 5 lug
    No air tools

Nooooo, not unless they let them refuel again!
The F1 has been castrated way too much over the course of the years:
I remember that 'lil BMW turbo cranking up 1,350 HP - gone in '89, when they were able to produce
1 HP out of 1 cc!
    Now they're running on meager V8's / 2.4 l, cranking out approx. 780 HP.
Man, do I miss the legendary sound of the Ferrari V12!

That was the joke. ;) Seems like they're always changing up the rules to put everyone on a "level playing field."

Sure, they can refuel too, but they have to do it themselves:

    Stop car, stop engine.

Get out of car, slide debit card, select fuel type...

    Fuel...

Go into convenience store, get some snacks...

I need to go to McLaren next time I need tires cause Tire Pros want me to leave my vehicle for the day... One problem with that though is that Pirelli tires they use in F1 cost more than my car...

I was at Watkins Glen in 1965. I was at the end of the long straight.
    Honda also had a V12.
The high-pitched tone of those engines was awesome as they up-shifted into the turn!

McLaren have been struggling in the pits all season, yet in the past 2 GPs they've posted sub-3 second tire changes. practice makes perfect.

German GP was nowhere close to the excitement of the British. THe last 5 laps of the brit GP were amazing.

Hungaroring next weekend then it's a long month off before the fall races. Alonso is looking unbeatable right now.

In 1994 I was sitting on the outer stand at the "Hardbach Damm" in Hockenheim, first chicane after
the motodrome. The boys came in at top speed (350+ km/h), hit the breaks just 200m before the chicane,
down 5 gears, then out again up to 7th gear within a few seconds. Great noise!
Ferrari's V12 3.5l (the only one at that time, all others were on V10 or even V8) came in screeching like
a F104 Starfighter and one could easily distinguish it from the others just by the sound.
In '96 the top speed in between the Motodrome's north corner and that chicane was a slick 226 mph,
    done by a Jordan Peugeot.
