scituate bonfires banned this year
OK so 80 some odd years and not a issue, this year is special though I guess.
How are the scituate bonfire burners gonna handle this. In complete defiance, vote out the selectmen ? I don't get it.
Ohh and did you hear the norfolk county sheriff on 96.9fm basically call the people of massachusetts to dumb to handle legal fireworks.
At what point are enough people going to be fed up with this crap.....your to stupid to take care of yourself, geez.

To celebrate freedom from oppressive govt's you can go watch govt fireworks displays. Only a terrorist would want to light their own fireworks.<sarcasm>

We have 4 houses in Marshfield,3 in the Fieldston section, one in Rexhame. All are within 75 yards of the water.
When they were 4000 dollar cottages it wasn't a big deal, now some of the houses around me are million dollar homes, and if an ember was to get to one house it would be quite the fire.
The cops patrol the beach now on July 3rd, they don't bother the people with fireworks, they do make sure there is no open exhibition of alcoholic beverages, in other words keep it in a cup or Koozie, but start hauling wood onto the beach, or get a fire lit, and they are there along with a pumper truck in seconds.
It has been that way for a number of years now, but I remember being a kid in the 1960's hauling everything we could find to burn up onto the beach.....
And as for people being too dumb to have fireworks... in my town last night (tuesday) 11 people injured, several med flighted, a couple of babies with second and third degree burns in Shriners Boston as I type, because someone EFF'd up in a huge way.Last edited by Glockaholic; 07-04-2012 at 08:11 PM.

from what i have heard its because of that fire back in March that was started by not a bonfire but a radio. This is just another example of lets ban it because of What IF.
